New carpet designs this season have been inspired by Moroccan embroideries, Navajo serapes and African-American quilts. The multi-colored geometric designs of quilts by African-American women in rural Gee's Bend, Ala., have been reproduced by the Classic Rug Collection as hand-knotted rugs made of wool in the United States and flat-weave cotton rugs will help build a community center in Gee's Bend, as well as a museum there to house quilts...
