New York interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud considers Taos, New Mexico, her second home - no surprise then that she conceived her Navaho Blue and Navaho Red area rugs there. Referencing a Navaho serape, the woven wrap worn by the women of the tribe, these Egyptian-wool carpets are distinguished by rhythmic lines, deep colors, and a strong rectangular geometry.
